From Mike Kaczer and Rod Adams:
I am saddened to inform you that our softball brother and friend, Russ Curtis, passed away. As most of us knew and shared the field with Russ, he was our Monday/Thursday Field Commissioner for 17 years. Russ will be greatly missed by all of us.
We will keep you posted about his funeral arrangements.
Please say a prayer for Russ' family.
- MLK
I was saddened to hear of Russ's passing. I was introduced to Senior Softball in 2017 by Russ at Lorenzi Park. I had been playing D ball back East. Russ was a great Field Commissioner and overall one of the finest people anywhere. A true "class act".
Some of Russ's Career Highlights:
-Joined the LVSSA in 2001 at the age of 56.
-Field Commissioner from 2007-2024 for the Under 64 Men. Man, this guy could pick "equal teams".
-Voted Into the LVSSA Hall of Fame in 2009.
-Coach of Tharladson's for many years.
-Played at the Huntsman Games for many years.
-Hit Three Grand Slams in One Game.
-A bowler for many years.
Much more to come. RIP Russ.
