I want to thank members Rod, Glenn, and my wife, Karen, as the four of us worked diligently to get field one (pictures above of the before and after) in playing condition for yesterday’s 🥎 on Veterans Day.
I also thank Mike "Bazooka" and Bobby "Rink" for their help prepping the field.
I thank everyone who attended our Veterans Day event. It appeared that everyone enjoyed the 🥎 and the great food provided by Lou B.
TOYS FOR TOTS COLLECTIONS START TOMORROW. LET’S MAKE THIS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL FOR A LOT OF KIDS AGAIN.
James DeGroot put together a team to play in the Fall Classic in Bullhead City. He named this team, the OutKasts.
The OutKasts lost their first two games on Monday, but came back strong on Tuesday and Wednesday to win 4 games in a row.
Unfortunately, the OutKasts couldn’t get help from another team that had to win in order for us to get to the Championship Game. The OutKasts proudly finished second.

The Gamblers AA team finished 4th in our division at this year’s World Tournament. With 12 teams in the division, and playing in the loser’s bracket yesterday, we won 4 games in a row to advance to Championship Thursday. Unfortunately, we lost the first game today.
I’m proud of the entire team. We showed lots of heart. It was an honor playing with a great group of guys.

Changing Of The Guard
After 17 years as the Field Commissioner for the Monday/Thursday group of LVSSA players, Russ Curtis is putting down his erasable marker and resigning. Russ took over for Dave Barnes as Field Commissioner in 2007. For the next 17 years, in the dark, in the cold or in the heat, Russ would arrive at Lorenzi Park very early in the morning before anyone else was there. Russ, along with longtime assistant, Bobby Rink, brought the equipment from the shed to the field. Russ not only prepped fields, but he also made up the scrimmage teams as equally as possible.
I asked Russ about his time as Field Commissioner. He said, " It went by fast."
Russ is handing his erasable marker and Field Commissioner duties over to me, MLK. I made up the teams this past Monday which ended in a 10 run blowout loss. I got one stinky nose from Flanman 😁.
On behalf of the entire LVSSA, we express our gratitude to you.

I would like to thank Russ for his 17 years of service to the LVSSA! I worked along side Russ from July 2018 - December 2020 as your LVSSA Under 65 Age Representative and he did the field work, coordinated the guys and the line-ups and every game was competitive and exciting!
Thanks so much Russ! We will miss YOU!

Your LVSSA Board of Directors voted at the January 2024 Board Meeting to provide all 2024 LVSSA Members, that paid the full $50 membership fee, a LVSSA dry fit jersey. These jerseys, courtesy of LVSSA member Gary Chaney and Cyborg Sports, arrived on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The distribution process has begun. Bill Walsh and Rod Adams are leading the effort to get these jerseys out to all members. Our members, going to the SSUSA Southwest Tournament here in Las Vegas next week, are encouraged to wear them as "human billboards" to advance the LVSSA "brand" and hopefully our membership in the LVSSA.
The second round of jerseys has begun to the folks that were missed at the February 15th, 2024 deadline. These jerseys came in April 26th and are being distributed at this time.
To Bill Walsh and Russ Curtis for all their hard work!!
Thanks to Myla and Andy Moscow for the "With Six You Get Eggrolls"!
