To my LVSSA family,
I start this by thanking Lou, Rod, and whoever else might have been involved, by having this Thursday, July 23rd, MLK Day. I’m grateful for this honor.
It’s been a privilege sharing the 🥎field with you. I made many friends over the past 10 1/2 years. Those friends turned into brothers soon after. It was a great ride, a couple of times a roller coaster ride. There were guys and gals who were there for me during my difficult times. I thank my Uce, Joe V, George K, George C, Bobby C, Wayne B from the men’s side. Laurie, Renn, Pinky and Louise are all wonderful.
I leave LVSSA remembering all of the great things. I thank Rod for inviting me to be on the Mob tournament team. We were a tight knit group. It was amazing to win several tournaments. The Prescott tournament is one I’ll always remember best, trailing by 10 runs at our last at bat. We scored 11 runs without making an out.
It was fun playing with the original Outkasts. Bobby C and I rode a lot of miles together on Interstates and Highways. But, my favorite time of all, was when Bobby brought his boogie board to San Clemente with him. So, the three of us go to the beach, circling around for a parking space, which we found, but it took me several tries to finally back into it. George told me that he was going to give me parking lessons which I’m coming back for. Bobby goes into the Pacific Ocean with his boogie board, but he wouldn’t go out to where someone was surfing. The ocean was kicking Bobby’s ass. But the best thing that happened was we hung out and talked. We talked about life in the past and life at that moment.
I learned how to become a better player on the field by playing with people who can propel my game to the next level.
I bonded with a group who I refer to guys on the field, but off the field, I had the privilege of knowing very good men. I’m honored to know such a group of men and women.
Stay blessed and safe. Play with heart and trust one another. My love for the men and ladies of LVSSA will always be forever.
